Host FAQ

Answers for independent organizers

Host FAQ

Find the requirements, understand the review process, and know what your team is responsible for.

Eligibility

Who can host?

Founder communities, investors, accelerators, companies, organizers, and allies of every gender who can create meaningful value for women founders.

Where and when can events take place?

Events must take place in person in the San Francisco Bay Area during March 8–14, 2027. San Francisco venues are encouraged. We are not accepting virtual events at this time.

Venues

Do I need a confirmed venue?

You can plan and begin the checklist while searching. Confirm the venue, permission to use it, and arrangements before submitting for calendar review.

Can you help me find a space?

The interested-venues list is coming soon. Meanwhile, explore venue resources in Host HQ and check availability, costs, and terms directly with the venue. A listing or expression of interest is not a confirmed booking.

Event setup

Can I use an existing Luma event?

Yes. Update the existing event using the submission checklist; you do not need to create a duplicate. Event registration must be on Luma.

Can I charge for tickets?

You may choose free or paid tickets. You remain responsible for pricing, ticketing, and delivering the event. Require Approval must be enabled for attendee registration.

Is the shared Female Founder Week paragraph required?

Yes. Include the exact shared paragraph in your event description for calendar acceptance. The submission checklist provides a copy button. Keep it at the end when editing your description.

Must every speaker be confirmed?

List confirmed contributors accurately. If others are still being arranged, say so clearly and avoid promising access you cannot confirm.

Approval

Does creating my event submit it to Female Founder Week?

No. Creating a Luma event and submitting it to the official calendar are separate actions. Use the official calendar submission link when it becomes available.

What is the difference between attendee approval and calendar approval?

Your host team approves people who request to attend. Female Founder Week separately reviews whether your event meets the calendar requirements.

When will submissions open, and how long does review take?

Submissions are coming soon. An opening date and review timeline have not been announced. The official submission link will appear on the checklist when ready.

When can I call my event official?

After your event meets the requirements and is approved for the official calendar. Submitting alone does not establish acceptance.

Access and responsibilities

Why is management access required?

Female Founder Week needs management access to review event details, coordinate event communications, and access registration information. A public host name alone does not provide that access. The designated account will be published before submissions open.

Which registration questions and attendee notices must I use?

The final shared questions and information-sharing wording are still being prepared. They will be published on the submission checklist before submissions open. Do not treat the event-description paragraph as a substitute for that notice.

Who operates and pays for my event?

Each independent host remains responsible for costs, tickets, venue arrangements, vendors, registration, safety, and on-site execution.

Do I have to complete the planning checklist to be accepted?

No. The planning checklist contains recommended hosting practices. The submission checklist identifies the required setup and calendar submission steps.

Ready to prepare your event?

Follow the Luma setup checklist. Calendar submissions are coming soon; you can prepare now.
